Trust

In August 2019, while in Washington, D.C. for a wedding, I had lunch with a life-long friend. The t-shirt he wore bore the message: “Trust Nobody”. It didn’t surprise me that he still felt that way. The fact that the pandemic was announced soon after that caused me to pause and think carefully again about what trust truly means and who we can actually trust.

First and foremost, do you trust yourself? Trust begins with loving yourself. Loving yourself enables you to trust yourself. Trusting the power of your intuition enables you to begin to trust yourself and to trust others. Are you trustworthy? Do you have a circle of trustworthy individuals with whom you trust your life? Can you immediately, without hesitation name the individual members in your circle of trust? When a person tells you that he/she trusts you, that is the most honest, profound, heartfelt expression of love for you.

Trust is embodied in love. If you have trust, you automatically have love.
