FUN FACT!

Harambee (pronounced Huh-rom-bay), the official motto of Kenya, is Swahili meaning “all members coming together, contributing resources”. Harambee House is a welcoming gathering place for Wellesley students from the African diaspora. I spent a lot of time there as a student, and I attended a performance of the Harambee Singers in October 2023 while there for the Wellesley College Alumnae Association (WCAA) Board meetings. As Wellesley alumnae, we also enjoy gathering at Harambee House during reunions.
